2011 2nd Annual Fall BBQ Reunion is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the TKE House. Please RSVP if you have not already!

Virginia Tech will be playing in an away game at Marshall University. We have discussed trying to have this picnic the same weekend as a football game, but logistically it is just too difficult. Hotels are very hard to get and are double the price per night of a non-football weekend - with a two-night minimum. Plus, we don’t know the time of the game until about a week out making it very difficult to plan an event.

2012 Red Carnation Ball (RCB) is scheduled for the same weekend as the Spring Football Game, on Saturday, April 21, 2012. XOAA will be hosting this event again due the suspension of the fraternity. If you love Hokies football, you’ll enjoy the Spring Game as 45,000 fans gather to watch the last practice session of the school year.

·         Tailgate gathering – Lot 5 (Chicken Hill) in the grassy knoll (see red circle in newsletter) at the southeast corner of Southgate and Tech Center Drive. BYO everything!

Northern Virginia TKEs: join us for some good food and music under the stars in Herndon for the last show of the summer. Virginia Tech TKE Red Carnation Ball (RCB) Weekend

When:   Friday and Saturday, April 1 & 2, 2011
What:   Friday, informal Happy Hour gathering at The TKE House, followed by a Top of the Stairs later in the evening.
   Saturday, Social & Cocktails: 6 PM – 7 PM at Days Inn
   Dinner: 7 PM – 8 PM,
   Desert/Recognition/ Dancing: 8 PM – 11 PM
Where: Days Inn (former Holiday Inn near TKE House)
Cost:   $25 per person

Special Notes:
• The chapter is prohibited from organizing any social events like RCB, so XOAA is stepping up to host it this year. Please support XOAA and the current chapter by attending.

• Bobby Altizer, #1 Scroll, is coming! He has some incredible stories about how our fraternity was founded.
• VT plays UVA in Baseball on Friday evening at 5:30 P.M. and again on Saturday at 2 P.M. Come on back to Blacksburg and support your Hokies and your fraternity!

Friday, September 24, 2010:

All Day - TKE House Work - if you can come early to work on the house, please do.

4 P.M. - Informal Happy Hour at house. Bring your own food and drink. I'll have my small tailgate grill. If anyone has a transportable grill, please bring it.

Around 8 P.M. - Top of the Stairs - if you get there early, hang out and have a beer until we arrive from the house.

Saturday, September 25, 2010:

11 A.M. - House Tailgate Party: Bring your own food and drink. Again, I'll have my small grill, but please bring one if you can.

12 P.M. - VT vs. BC - Come watch the game at the house. We hope to have an LCD projector setup in the party room.

3 P.M. - Reunion Cookout & short Alumni Association Meeting/Announcements

5 P.M. - Dinner is served
